The DecalPRO^® system requires "heat" and "pressure" at the same instant to work properly. Most all laminator makers from the beginning of time up to today still use a pair of parallel heater plates mounted after the transport rollers. This works fine for plain plastic pouch laminating, but if the user wanted a "zero-distortion" lamination the user was out of luck. GBC however, has redesigned the wheel here and it not only benefits the conventional user of this type of device, it also is the missing link to make DecalPRO^® work because it is absolutely essential that heat and pressure be applied to make our system work.

has pioneered a revolutionary new design that emulates real "hot roller" laminators which cost on the order of 10x the cost of this unit. The difference is that they 'cheat'! The large format hot-roll laminators have their heaters built inside the rollers. This obviously is quite expensive to design such a device, however, the folks at GBC had a very ingenious idea. Why not mount a pair of curved heater plates above and below the neopreme coated pressure rollers, 180º away from the point of roller contact so that the heat radiates a short distance to the rotating rollers, thus transferring the heat at the point of contact where the rollers come in contact with the material being passed through.
